AirX – A new answer to an old problem
Eliminating foul odours has been a problem that dates back to at
least 3,000 years ago when the ancient Egyptians were burning
incense in tombs. Covering a bad odour with a more powerful one
is known as masking. Unfortunately this is still the primary way
many air deodorisers work today. The unique properties of Airicide
mean that AirX products work differently.
AirX started with the help of a worldwide authority
Today there is a great deal more known about the sense of
smell, with the foremost research in the world being done at
the Monell Chemical Senses Centre, a division of the University
of Philadelphia. Collaboration with AirX laboratories led to the
development of a complex we call Airicide. This complex is much
more than a mask & is part of every AirX formula.

incorporated Airicide in the formulation. Why? Airicide changes
the ‘geometry’ of a foul odour molecule. In doing this we change

Your sense of smell & how it works
In over simplified terms, odours float in the air as molecules. When
inhaled, these molecules reach a dead end passage at the top of
the nasal cavity that contains thousands of hair like antennae called
cilia. The cilia receive these molecules & trigger impulses to the
brain that identify the smell. Scientists now believe that different
cilia only accept molecules of specific size & shape, or as the experts
say, accept only molecules of specific ‘geometries’.
